1st Sending [Audio/Commentlog]

[Talia really just wanted to get down to the stables, nose deep in her journal as she listens and reads past entries. She was not expecting to leave her room and come nearly face to web with any number of delicate weavings throughout the hallway. She only just missed stepping on any number of the arachnids, trying her best to avoid doing so for several reasons. She hated killing insects if it could be avoided and.. honestly? Spiders made one of the worst sounds when stepped on. :| Crushed carapaces and all that .. ugh.

She makes a small sound as a spider lowers from its web in front of her, skittering onto and down her arm before falling to the floor. She can't help the startled scream, shrinking back from the arachnid. Doing so only manages to back her into one of the nearby webs and with another cry she manages to get a face full of webbing. Journal activation is go!!

She makes a small sound of dismay and then cries out in pain, rather than fear, left hand jerking savagely. A small brown spider, no larger than a penny, falls to the ground and begins skittering away. Talia rubs the bite mark, grimacing at the sting of pain that throbs through her hand. A shame she has no idea what a brown recluse looks like or what its bite can become if unattended. :D]

And to think I was going out of my way to avoid stepping on you damnable beasts..

[She begins to unwind the webbing from her face and hair, thoroughly unimpressed.]

[Talia looks at the bite mark, but it really just looks like any other spider bite right now; a little red spot and nothing impressive. She finally disengages herself from the webbing, making a face as she weaves around more spiders.]

I am fine, beloved .. damnable spider and nothing more. Are they like this everywhere?

[That's not going to keep him from worrying.]

Far as I can tell.

[It kind of makes him wish that he wore shoes.]

Found one in my bottle. Dat be a quick way to ruin a drink.

[Talia makes a sound of displeasure.]

I do not begrudge them their place and right to it .. but they are everywhere!

[Her nose wrinkles slightly at his finding one in a bottle, but she laughs next, her voice amused and teasing.]

But not something that would keep you long from it, hmm?

Den I'll begrudge dem fuh jah.

[Seriously, getting into his liquor? That's just wrong.]

[Talia's laugh is genuine and amused, despite being surrounded by various spiders all through the hall. She is grinning smoothly as she begins to trek down the hall again, intent on reaching the stables this go 'round.]

Well if someone must, I will not argue the point. And aye .. I do.

[There is no questioning the adoration in her tone, but then ...]

I will not appreciate finding any of these in the food stores ..

[It's hard to believe that he could miss that laugh so much while she was gone. Now that she's back, it's music to his ears.]

If dey do we can just cook up some of da biggah ones.

[He's only partly joking. This wouldn't be the first time Kevas had to stoop to eating spider meat.]

[Talia isn't going to ever take for granted a moment with you, Kevas. That's for damn sure. She pulls a face at his words, whether they be true or not.]

Although I realize the realistic nature and necessity certain that certain times might call for such .. I would really much prefer to avoid it if at all possible.

[Talia has seen the stores. She would _much_ rather eat those than a spider of any shape or size.]

[He can't help but chuckle. Clearly she hasn't seen some of the things he's eaten when he got desperate.]

Hey it ain't be so bad, just be needin' da right spices. Like hungah.

[Though to be perfectly honest Kevas would not have to deal with scavenging for food again for some time.]

[Talia snorts softly in amusement. No, she hadn't seen the worst of it, but pickings had certainly been a bit slim on the Shore. Creativity was a plus in that regard!]

Well, Haven knows there is certainly enough of them to feed the entire Keep. Not my first preference, but good to know we are not pressed for dining ..

[Yeah. If we could avoid eating insects, it would be far more appreciated than you can imagine.]

[Kevas smirks. As long as there's plenty of drink he's fine with scavenging. It wasn't the food but the withdrawal that was slowly killing him on the Shore.]

Dere always be da beasties in stables. I be sure dem giant chickens be pretty tasty. How joo seen da size of dem legs?

[Alright at this poin he's just messing with here, not that he wasn't before.]

[You're one of the only ones she believes that was a possibility for, Kevas. :( We'll all be greatly relieved that it didn't come to that, thanks.

At his words, her brows arch high and she snorts, grinning as she makes her tone as severe as possible. No, that's not laughter you hear! Well, okay, it totally is, but shush!]

Kevas, if you lay one hungry hand on my charges, I shall have to have a serious conversation with you.

[Yeah. You heard that right. Charges. Kevas, you can't eat her charges. XD]

[There will be no shushing from him. Her laughter just encourages him.]

Joor charges huh? Since when did dat become joor job?

[His raised eyebrow is almost audible.]

Guess I be havin' no choice den. I promise not to touch joor beasties.

[He couldn't care less about angering Dos but it's Talia's bad side that he wants to avoid. Whipped? Damn right he is.]

[His laughter is like music to her soul, sorely missed even if only gone for a short span of time. Sappy? Talia?? Oh, you can bet your bottom dollar! Her voice is soft and quite happy as she responds, completely content with her decision.]

Mmm, yes. I know farm animals quite well and have a bit of an affinity toward them. I offered Dos my services in keeping things running smoothly in the stables for the interim.

[She can feel that eyebrow raise, mister. If she was a terrible person, she might tease about how it would hardly be 'work' when Dos was so attractive. But, she won't tease you like that, because she'd rather you not try to kill him when she would only have eyes for you.

She makes a soft sound of amusement, smiling warmly.]

I appreciate your sacrifice, beloved .. I shall thank you for it later.

[*WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE*]

[She can sappy all she wants. This troll loves her for it.]

Guess dat be meanin' I oughta try findin' sometin' to keep me occupied too.

[Give him some credit. He doesn't get jealous that easily, especially when he trusts her absolutely. Doesn't mean that he wouldn't respond to her teasing in kind just to drive her crazy. Don't try to out-flirt a professional flirt love.

Still, Kevas will be paying many more visits to the stables now that's for sure.]

I'll try my hardest to show my gratitude.

[Spiders aside, this is turning out to be a pretty good day.]

[Well, it's not going to stop any time soon, believe you me! There is a slight adjustment on her end and the journal shifts to video feed, her lips quirked into a warm smile.]

I am certain there are be any number of things to maintain ones' interest, beloved. The armory, perhaps, could use assistance? Or an offer of your knowledge of weaponry?

[Oh she knows, for certain, and feels much the same way. Really, it's the knowledge that he will very possibly out-flirt her that gives her pause. ;)

His words drawn a far different smile to her lips, sultry and full of promise.]

I have no doubt, my love .. I have no reason to doubt that you will achieve everything you set out for.

[Public broadcast? Who cares!! Talia would happen to agree with this, by the by .. a tiny little bite on the hand has nothing on her! .. Yet.]

[Then this troll will be happy for a good long time. Kevas responds with video of his own smile.]

[He chuckles, but he's not serious. Well, not completely serious anyway. He already has a mind to what he's going to do. It's time he takes his training far more seriously than he has in the past. He got lazy on that ship and it cost him. It cost him his life once, and then the majority of his family. This is not something he'll repeat here.

That smile of hers quickly grabs his attention again and he returns it with his own knowing smile.]

[If anyone thinks he would shy away from public displays of affection, they don't know a thing about trolls.]

[As his smile appears within the pages of her journal, her expression softens; she'd never get tired of seeing that face. His teasing response blossoms her expression into a wide grin and she laughs.]

Then they would be as finely educated as they might, Kevas!

[She knows well that he will excel at anything he puts his mind to, but also that his intentions are far removed from teaching his fellows about alcohol; although she would never claim that he'd been lazy while on the Elegante.

Her lips curl, warmth in her expression.]

Mmm, that you be. Quite the generous soul, as well .. I have never gone wanting.

I be only too happy to share what I be knowin' wid dose around me.

[He chuckles with her, happy that he can at least be some good to her even if he did fail the rest.

Kevas might have finally forgiven himself for his past mistakes but that doesn't mean he'll ever stop blaming himself for letting down his family again. He should have done something. What that might be he has no idea but it's his job to keep them safe. Something he's proving to be incapable of as of late.]

I could nevah leave joo as such in any way.

[His smile is full of affection for her.]

[Talia smiles at that and nods.]

[She absently rubs the bite on her hand, looking away from the journal at it for a moment. Nothing looks amiss, but still .. She glances back at the journal itself.]

Mind the spiders, love .. the are a bit bitey.

When ain't dey be?

[Kevas sees that bite, but he's not doctor. There's no telling what bit here when there are spiders everywhere in the keep, and not knowing what it is puts him on edge.]

Maybe joo should have dat looked at love.

[It was just a spider bite, but she appreciates Kevas' concern all the same. And, knowing what she does and having learned that things are often worse than thought, she nods. She used to think cardinals were innocuous, after all.]

I think I shall ..

[It would suck to be done in by such a tiny little creature, wouldn't it? She looks back to the journal and offers a smile.]

Best to be safe, mm?

[Unfortunately Talia, your troll has become a bit of a worrywart and your safety and health will always be one of his top priorities.]

Aye, I t'ink so. Even if it be just to humuh me.

[He's putting some serious thought into finding her and walking her to the infirmary, but he doesn't want Talia to think that he sees her as incapable.]

[Talia is of quite the similar mind, fellow worrywart, and you will find she's keeping a rather smart eye on you as well. She can pick up on his concern, even with the bond at its thinnest and she smiles softly. Her mind caresses his, a web of comfort and assurance flowing through the bond.]

I shall humor you until the end of time, Kevas. I will go to the infirmary before the stables.

[She will make every point of stopping by the infirmary, dear one. Upon not finding a medic, she shall do what she can to patch herself up and carry on. :D You go enjoy your spidertroll powers .. Talia will enjoy some flesh eating good times! 8D]

[Kevas gladly accepts the comfort of their bond with a smile. By now Kevas is quite used to her being in his head. In fact, not being able to feel her presence as such would be a far greater discomfort to him.]

T'anks joo love. Joo be puttin' my mind at ease.

[Oh he will, but the very moment Kevas finds out that Talia is in pain you can bet that he'll be doting on her every waking moment.]

[If you ever disappear from her head again, Kevas, there is going to be mass genocide. SRS. Her smiles brightens and she winks, nose wrinkling a bit in happiness.]

So long as your soul rest easy, my love. I will do all that I can to see it remain that way.
